Star Wars Day Top 5 Gaming Deals (UK)

I love Star Wars Day, it is one of my favourite holidays and I say that without any irony. The reason why is firstly...I love Star Wars. Secondly I love word play and 'May The Fourth Be With You' is gold. But most of all I love it for the video game deals! So I have mined the internet like it is Kessel and I am a spice miner finding you the best deals to get your big wookie paws on! These are UK prices because that is where I live, however it is still worth a read if you are outside the UK as I will also give my thoughts on each game, and I believe these deals are similar over in the states.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
If you haven't played this game then you owe it to yourself as a Star Wars fan to play it. It is an authentic Jedi experience and Cal Kestis is one of my favourite Jedi characters. The opening of this game alone is worth the price. I am a huge fan of this series and cannot praise it enough! Also this price is CRAZY CHEAP!  I was shocked when I found out how cheap this game was! I almost wished I had never played it so that I could buy it cheap and play it for the first time again!

Playstation store (With a PS Plus Membership) and Xbox £4.49!!!!!!!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

I love this game so much! It is, in my opinion, the game that made me feel the most like a Jedi and had one of my favourite plots I have seen in Star Wars. The game is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and it improves on everything the first one did so well and fixes some of the things that needed fixing. The maps are much more fleshed out and the world feels so much more alive than the first game. Also Kal as a character is a complex and deeply interesting character and the supporting cast all are dealing with their own personal struggles, which really make them feel more fleshed out and relatable. I know that early on there were some bug issues with this game, however in my play through I did not come across any issues, so perhaps these were patched out early on. If you haven't played this game and you love Star Wars...Play it! Also the price is a RIDICULOUSLY good bargain!

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Switch)

This game was my second favourite Lego video game experience (my first is Lego City Undercover, that is a flawless game and I will not hear a bad word said about it). I played this game and felt pure joy and glee throughout. The best part about Lego games is the comedy and this game has it in spades! I remember walking past an NPC and them saying something like "Over there is where the Sand People live, not just the men - but the women and children too" and I realised in that moment that this game has my sense of humour. It is a pretty meaty game with the chance to play through Lego parodies of all 9 movies and I found myself enjoying playing through even the movies I didn't enjoy watching. The variety of characters you can play as is HUGE and the expansion packs add some really fun characters from the extended Star Wars Universe. Honestly - this is the Lego game you are looking for.

Nintendo eshop - £12.49 (BARGAIN)

Star Wars Heritage Pack (Switch)

Now this is for all you nostalgia chasers like me who live in the past and are constantly trying to replicate our childhood. This pack, for the price it currently is, is an absolute steal! Let me just list the games on this bundle:
STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
STAR WARS Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
STAR WARS Episode 1 Racer
STAR WARS Republic Commando
STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed
STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic
STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Honestly I personally enjoy all of these games and if you played any of them in the past, this is a great way to take a trip down memory lane. If you have never played these games it is absolutely worth buying still. I recently replayed The Force Unleashed and the Jedi Knight games and had a blast! Also Episode 1 Racer is a crazy amount of fun! Republic Comando is a fast paced and enjoyable, although can have performance issues and the Knights of The Old Republic are games every Star Wars fan should experience. Honestly, for this price, it is a no brainer!

Also all these games are on sale for really good prices individually on the eshop so it is still worth it if you just want 1 or 2 of these.

Nintendo eshop - £34.04

Star Wars Battlefront II
Now this game when it first came out had some controversy. If you remember the whole loot crate fiasco. However the drama surrounding this game over shadowed what is actually a fantastic online multiplayer game. I was excited for the remastering of the original battlefront games that just came out, but turns out they are a complete mess so Battlefront II remains my favourite Star Wars multiplayer experience. The single player campaign is honestly worth skipping, it is not great. But for the price, this game is a bargain and gives you the chance to jump into some iconic Star Wars battles beautifully recreated. Would I pay full price of this game? No. Would I pay £5.39 for it? 100%!

'Nine Sols' is my favourite game that has been released this year. I was lucky enough to interview the very talented developer 'Red Candle Games' about their game and their studio. Interview With The Team Behind BALLS: The Monster-Catchin' Musical Comedy

Recently I was lucky enough to interview the guys behind the upcoming musical  BALLS: The Monster-Catchin’ Musical Comédy. This is an interactive musical parody based on a popular game that involves catching monsters in little balls...I'm sure you can guess which game I am referring to! Thank you to Harrison and the team for taking time to answer my question! What inspired you to write “ BALLS: The Monster-Catchin’ Musical Comédy?” Our childhoods were about gaming together and fighting together and trading binders full of monster cards that we collected but never learned how to play with … together. Now that we’re old and weird, we’re nostalgic for the unfettered joy of in-person trades and the battles with buddies.  This show captures that feeling of shared, in-person fun. An engaging visual and imaginative experience, inside its own colorful universe, lovingly lampooning nostalgia, nerd culture, and the wide-eyed immersion of selecting “NEW GAME” for the very… first… time....

Duck Detective: The Secret Salami Review

Platforms: Switch, Xbox One, Windows, Linux, Xbox Series X/S, Mac This is a game about a grizzled, washed up, detective who is trying to solve a case to distract from his miserable and lonely life, also...he is a duck. 'Duck Detective: the secret salami' is a point and click mystery game by indie developer 'Happy Broccoli'. It is short, but engaging and provided a window into the life of hardened detective Eugene McQuacklin, a character I would love to see more of in the future! The first thing that struck me about this game was the music. It has a jazz score that seems like it is pulled straight out of a classic Noir film. It not only added to tone that the game was going for, but also created a cozy gaming vibe. The voice acting is also perfect. The voice of Eugene McQuacklin was one of my favourite parts of the game. The voice actor plays the role with such sincerity which really adds to the comedy. The dead pan and serious delivery is reminiscent of Lesley Nielsen i...
