Why People Are Not Happy About The Sims Lovestruck - Expansion Pack Trailer

The Sims 4 has announced a new expansion pack and it's...well it's interesting. Releasing on July 24th, the new Lovestruck expansion pack is causing some controversy among fans. But first, what are the features of this new pack? The Sims 4 Lovestruck is a romance expansion pack set in a Latin American inspired world,  Ciudad Enamorada. With this pack players can create an online dating profile on the 'Cupid's Corner' dating app (they definitly shouldve called it Simder) and match with other sims. Similar to Tinder and other real world dating apps, 'Cupid's Corner' allows Sims to create a profile, match with other Sims, and start conversations. Additionally, Sims will now have turn ons and turn offs (a feature which was included in the Sims 2), and can become a ' Romance Consultant'. The pack also includes a new dating system where players can choose where to go and what to do and will hopefully function better than weddings in My Wedding Stories

Nine Sols Review

The first time I parried an enemy, put an explosive on them and watched them explode as body parts went everywhere, I thought – I’m going to like this game. Nine Sols  by Red Candle Games is easily the best indie game I have played so far in 2024 and I cannot wait to tell you why! Nine Sols is a hand-drawn 2D, Metroidvania, action platformer with Sekiro-inspired combat for Windows and Mac. The main character of Nine Sols is an anthropomorphic cat warrior named Yi who was betrayed by his fellow ‘Sols’ and is on a revenge fueled rampage to overthrow the other nine ‘Sols’.   The setting is an Asian fantasy-inspired, futuristic taopunk world, and I wanted to explore every inch of this lovingly crafted map. The story takes a minute to get your head around, but it is worth paying attention to the dialogue because it opens up a deep and rich lore behind the beautiful setting of this game. The first feature I am excited about is the hand drawn art style…wow! I cannot express enough just ho

Interview with Jason Paige - The Voice of The Pokémon Theme

I recently had the enormous pleasure of interviewing the legendary Jason Paige! If you are unaware, Jason Paige was the singer of arguably one of the most iconic theme song of all time - The Pokémon Theme. As well as being the voice of most of our childhoods, Jason also has performed alongside legends such as Foreigner, Meatloaf, Steven Tyler and Michael Jackson! Jason now travels 'across the land' meeting Pokémon fans 'far and wide' and performing his music. He has a song coming soon titled Top of the World so please look out for that, and follow him online! Now lets get into the interview with Jason Paige - 'the very best, like no one ever was!' Did you have any idea that the Pokémon theme would be as massive as it is, and how does it feel being described now as the 'voice of a generation'? There is no way to know the extent of things in the future. But I do my best to try to optimise and give every experience and session and work related experience

'Still Wakes the Deep' Review

Still Wakes the Deep got so much right but the main criticism I have is that they didn't make a video game. It looks amazing, the setting is unique and the acting is brilliant - what I am saying is that this would've been a great movie. The game is a survival horror set on a North Sea oil rig in 1975. You play as a Glaswegian electrician named Caz who finds himself trapped on the rig as harsh weather and mysterious creatures tear it apart. I live in Scotland and the best compliment I can give this game is that this is such an accurate representation of Scottish people and the fact that it uses proper dialect really made me happy! Also you can play this game in Scottish Gaelic which is a nice touch and shows that developer The Chinese Room  really cares about the culture. You can even hear the differences between the Glasweigians and Aberdonians, and there is the odd geordie thrown in there for good measure! When making the game the developers interviewed many oil rig workers an

Interview with Feral Cat Den - Developer of 'Nirvana Noir'

I recently had the good fortune of interviewing Feral Cat Den -  the Indie developers behind the popular game Genesis Noir and upcoming title Nirvana Noir.  The game will be releasing on Windows PC and Xbox. Nirvna Noir is described as 'A noir adventure beyond time and space. The city of cosmic beings is under threat in two parallel realities - one where the Big Bang was never fired, the other exploding in color and sin. It's up to you to solve the mysteries of the Bigger Bang in this follow up to the award-winning  Genesis Noir.' First of all I would like to say that based on the trailer 'Nirvana Noir' might be one of the most visually stunning titles I have ever seen.  What would you say influenced the art in this game? We’re still in love with the works that inspired Genesis Noir such as film noir like Alphaville, literature by Calvino, and artwork by William Blake. We've also been diving deep into 60s/70s psychedelic and counter culture artwork like the comi

Nintendo Direct 18th June Review

I always get a little bit giddy whenever Nintendo say they have a direct coming and then I try to temper my expectations. As someone who has been hurt too many times, I try to not build my hopes up. Well it turns out for this direct...I didn't build my hopes up enough! I will go through everything that was announced in the Nintendo Direct and then give my overall impression, but it is fair to say I left this direct feeling very positive about being a Nintendo fan! Here are the 5 announcements that I am most excited about and why: Mario and Luigi: Brothership (7th November) This game is the next installment in the Mario and Luigi RPG franchise and I could not be more excited for it! It seems like Switch is becoming the MArio RPG system! With remakes of Super Mario RPG and Thousand year door being released over the course of the last few months, I am ready for a brand new, ground up Mario and Luigi RPG and this game looks stunning! MIO: Memories in Orbit (2025) This was my surprise o

'Alan Wake Night Springs DLC' Review

Alan Wake II is so far my favourite game I have played this year. I had an absolute blast playing this game and I previously wrote an article about how it helped me through depression. So when I saw the trailer for 'Night Springs DLC' at Summer Game Fest and saw it was dropping THAT DAY I ran to my PS5 and started the download. ' Alan Wake II: Night Springs' is paid DLC and follows three separate short stories that are not necessarily cannon. It is similar to Marvel's ' What If...' in that it focuses on short stories that allow us to see other characters, without worrying about the continuity of the main story. 'Night Springs' is presented as a pastiche on 'The Twilight Zone' and borrows look and narration style of the classic horror series. This is what I love about Alan Wake, it is weird and goofy and unapologetic in it's wacky creativity. 'Night Springs ' is broken up into three stories following three different characters:
